We refer to our earlier announcement dated 4 November 2019 in respect of the lodgement with the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) pursuant to the SC’s Guidelines on Unlisted Capital Market Products under the Lodge and Launch Framework for the establishment of the Sukuk Wakalah Programme made on 25 October 2019.

DRB-HICOM is pleased to announce that the Company had today, 12 December 2019 made its inaugural issuance of Sukuk Wakalah amounting to an aggregate of RM1.5 billion in nominal value under its Sukuk Wakalah Programme. The issuance of the Sukuk Wakalah is as follows:

The Sukuk Wakalah Programme has been assigned a final credit rating of A+IS with a positive outlook by Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad.

The proceeds raised from the Sukuk Wakalah issuance shall be utilised by the Company for the following Shariah-compliant purposes to:

a)  refinance the existing financing/ borrowings of the Group;

b)  finance the Company’s capital expenditure and working capital requirements and/or investments as well as for general corporate purposes; and

c)  pay all fees and expenses in connection with the Sukuk Wakalah Programme.

Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad are the Joint Principal Advisers, Joint Lead Arrangers and Joint Lead Managers for the Sukuk Wakalah Programme.
