SCGM Bhd ("SCGM" or "the Group") wishes to announce that it has expanded its products portfolio by developing, producing and supplying medical personnel with protective equipment, i.e. medical face shields and face masks. The Group has commenced production of medical face shields since February 2020 and expect new machinery for the production of face masks to arrive in April 2020

The Group repurposed its existing production line to medical personnel protective equipment in medical face shields amidst the outbreak of Covid-19.  Moving forward, will extend to the production of face masks in a near future.  The Company has allocated RM1.0 million in capital expenditure to purchase new machineries for the production of 2 types of face shields and face masks for medical personnel. 

The expansion of products portfolio enables the Group to leverage its plastic manufacturing expertise, experience and capabilities to provide essential equipment for frontline healthcare professionals to combat  COVID-19 pandemic. Since inception, sales till date is RM2.9 million and we expect sales for this segment to contribute positively in the next quarter.

The Company maintains its core products in the manufacturing of thermoform food packagings. The expansion of the Group's products portfolio is expected to contribute positively to the Group in the financial year ending 30 April 2020 and onwards.
