I’m actually quite satisfied with the company’s performance, while it may not be as solid as that of Greatec and Mi, I can sense that the company is propelling themselves into new heights , and as what the prospect did mention about benefitting from telecommunications growth and advancement, I believe Penta’s next QR could be way better :)) Just looking to collect more if there’s some selling activities by the traders:))
This stock worth for a long term investment, honest management who shared the challenges and faced them in a proper manner. I believe Penta can continue to perform even better in H2, given that they have resume their operation 100% and the emerging for next generation smartphone, the demand will always be there
Good afternoon NK , the high of 4.96 is a key point to see if it can sustain and then break new highs. However, with the US presidential election coming closer , I felt the US market tend to be more bullish in nature , as generally, most people felt that Trump would try his best to push the stock market higher and higher. And with unlimited QE, such a viewpoint seemed valid. Many stocks in the US market had hit their new highs , with Apple and Tesla being the more bullish ones. As long as Nasdaq continues its bullish run, tech stocks in Malaysia may also follow suit.
For now , I’m just sticking with my current holdings (Mi , Penta , Dufu) as most stocks are somewhat beyond their intrinsic value. Moreover, Malaysia’s current political landscape is relatively unstable, and there’s rumours that a snap election would be called upon around Nov/ Dec after the Budget were tabled. So, for me , I’m still keeping myself sideline till a good opportunity arises.
Meanwhile I bought TopGlove and Riverstone (Singapore market) last Monday. I did a calculation on Riverstone based on their latestQR and it seemed to be still under their intrinsic value. Will wait for TopGlove’s QR to be released and then will recalculate it’s intrinsic value. For now I’m just riding on their bullish trend upwards :))
Hi Gavin!!! sorry for the very late reply. been busy these few days. I felt like there is another wave (one last wave?) in US mkt. let's see if DJ can break 30k in near future. Nasdaq had been breaking record high for few days, carried by some of the good tech stocks like AAPL. Hopefully our KLSE tech stocks can hop on trend bandwagon too. Some of them opened high and retraced after that. But not the case for UWC and greatech, they went above and beyond the call of duty! really scary hahaha
Good evening NK, I felt that KLSE tech stocks were somewhat affected by the overall market sentiment, with the exception of the two you mentioned. Previous times (approx two weeks ago), UWC and Greatech were the ones standing strong despite the ongoing market sentiment, this time round they did it again hahaha :)). Let's see how they perform in the coming days . Cheers and have a great week ahead :))
Good evening NK, Nasdaq broke 12k barrier !!! That was so so so BULLISH!!! Regardless, I am currently hedging myself with some VIX and some options to undergo my defensive play hahahaha :))
Hiii Gavin! NASDAQ is getting more interesting...Yeap.. risk management is a must in investing. just curious, what are the options in your current hedging position??
I played options using what they called a butterfly option trade method, where I sell both call and put options of Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Google with the maturity date of 16th October, slightly before the US election. In this way, I can profit if the market goes either way, meanwhile collecting the premium. One thing that is good about option trading is that, it minimizes your losses. For example I'm selling an Apple call option at strike price 640, maturity 16th October costs around $6.50 per contract (100 shares), and the maximum amount you will lose if the share price goes beyond that is around $280, and if it doesnt, I will earn a premium, which is way more than what I lose. Moreover, if it goes beyond that I have my put option to hedge the postion, as I am selling not only covered calls but covered puts as well, so if market goes either way, I can still make some money from it. Cheers :))
