Reach Energy's Shahul Hamid redesignated as CEO
KUALA LUMPUR (April 14): Reach Energy Bhd executive director Shahul Hamid Mohd Ismail has been redesignated to the newly created post of chief executive officer with immediate effect.
Shahul was re-designated to the post of executive director from managing director on Jan 24.
He is currently also the general director of Emir-Oil LLP, in which Reach Energy holds an indirect 60% equity interest. Shahul was the first director since the inception of the company on Feb 7, 2013.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Reach Energy said Shahul, 67, has been in the petroleum industry for the past 37 years, mainly with Exxon and Shell and has held a rotation of assignments in Malaysia and overseas covering a wide variety of managerial, technical and commercial aspects of the business.
From August 2001 to October 2004, Shahul was the managing director of Shell Refining Co (FOM) Bhd — the first Malaysian to be appointed to this position. During 2005-2006, Shahul was a board member/technical advisor to Ramunia Holdings Bhd (now known as TH Heavy Engineering Bhd).
Reach Energy shares closed down 0.5 sen or 0.88% at 56.5 sen today, with 728,000 shares done. Its market capitalisation stood at RM721.97 million.
