DNeX signs two MoUs to expand regional halal trade

KUALA LUMPUR (April 9): Global Market eCommerce Sdn Bhd (GMeC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX), has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) to expand cross-border halal products trade across the Asean region, China and Taiwan.

In the first MoU, GMeC, which operates GoHalal eMarketplace, is partnering with Hub International Pte Ltd which operates Pure Good Hub’s integrated cross border trading services for halal products in Asean and China.

This partnership will provide merchants under GoHalal eMarketplace and Pure Good Hub’s network more channels to expand their Singaporean and Malaysian market through traditional supermarket retailers, and alternative halal supply chain channels such as convenience stores, food stalls, restaurants and wedding caterers.

GMeC’s second MoU is an agreement with GM E-Commerce Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which operates eHalal.com — a network covering China, Europe and Taiwan.

“Both parties will undertake joint efforts in supplier resources exchange and promotion of Halal products through cross border e-commerce platform and offline cross border exhibition and sales centres,” DNeX said in a statement today.

“Through these partnerships, we hope to expand our reach in the Halal industry namely in key markets like Asean, China and Taiwan,” said Datuk Samsul Husin, the Executive Deputy Chairman of DNeX, which specializes in providing e-services for trade facilitation, IT consultancy and cyber security.

GoHalal eMarketplace is an online halal industry platform where companies and individuals can get suppliers or buyers for their products and services as well as obtain and exchange information on the industry.
