KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 1): Salween Azila Ahmad Tauffik has been appointed as new group chief executive officer (CEO) of Majuperak Holdings Bhd with immediate effect.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Majuperak said Salween, 51, who has been the acting group CEO of the property development and merchandising company since Aug 15, has been re-designated to the role of group CEO.

She replaces Rustam Apandi Jamaludin, 57, who had tendered his resignation as managing director and group CEO of Majuperak on July 9, citing pursuit of other interest.

Salween was a former director of advisory services at Ernst & Young, and had also held the role of director of strategy and project management at Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera.

She has held the role of general manager at Perak state agency Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak, which is the largest shareholder of Majuperak, from 2014 onwards until present time.

Majuperak shares closed down 0.5 sen or 1.67% today at 30.5 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM60.5 million.
