KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 16): U.S. president Donald Trump had made a mistake in skipping the 21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) and Asean summits, said AirAsia Group Bhd group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.

In a series of tweets this morning from his handle @tonyfernandes, he said Trump’s missing of the Apec and Asean summits made no sense.

“While Donald Trump has made many mistakes, his biggest is avoiding the world,” he said.

Fernandes also commented that it was former president Barack Obama’s 8 years in office that set up a great economic platform which the present administration was reaping the benefits.

“No one changes an economy in one year,” he said.

He also said the U.S. has been built in immigration and trade.

“I pity the next president who has to pick up the mess,” he said.
