Is VSI oversold despite its volatile trading days?
VS Industry Bhd ’s (VSI) stock continues to struggle with volatile trading after having fallen to its 3.5-year low towards the end of last year. But is the stock oversold?
Recall, the integrated electronics manufacturing services provider saw its shares shed a massive 50% within days after announcing a challenging outlook on the company’s prospects for its financial year (FY) ending July 31, 2019, due to a reduction in orders from a key customer.
This announcement was made during the release of its first-quarter result in the middle of last month which showed a 7% year-on-year (y-o-y) decline in net profit for the three months to October 2018.
Consequently, VSI’s shares fell from RM1.31 on Dec 13 to a multi-year low of 65 sen on Dec 18.
