KUALA LUMPUR (March 1): Salween Azila Ahmad Tauffik, the group chief executive officer (GCEO) of Majuperak Holdings Bhd, a subsidiary of Perak State Development Corp (PKNP), has resigned just after five months on the job.

Salween, 52, took over the post — which was left vacant after Rustam Apandi Jamaludin resigned on July 9 last year — on Oct 1 last year after holding the position on an acting basis since Aug 15, 2018.

According to Majuperak's filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it cited to "pursue other interests" as a reason for her resignation.

Salween was a former director of advisory services at Ernst & Young, and has also held the role of director of strategy and project management at Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera.

She was also the general manager at PKNP, which is the largest shareholder of Majuperak since 2014.

In a separate filing, Majuperak said its executive chairman Mohd Ariff Yeop Ishak has been redesignated as managing director of the group, while non-executive director Mohamed Shafeii Abdul Gaffoor has been redesignated as chairman.

Majuperak shares closed unchanged at 23 sen today, giving a market capitalisation of RM45.64 million.
