TNB CEO Amir Hamzah exits UEM Edgenta’s board

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) chief executive officer (CEO), Amir Hamzah Azizan, 52, has exited UEM Edgenta Bhd’s board of directors.

In a bourse filing, UEM Edgenta said Amir, who was appointed TNB CEO on April 2, has retired as its non-executive and non-independent chairman, effective yesterday.

According to UEM Edgenta’s 2018 Annual Report, Amir was first appointed to its board on July 1, 2016, as an independent and non-executive director.

Formerly the managing director of Icon Offshore Bhd, Amir is the son of the late former Petronas president Tun Azizan Zainul Abidin.

UEM Edgenta shares closed one sen or 0.37% lower at RM2.72 yesterday.
