LAST month I had the nerve racking task of standing in front of a large room of strangers in Johor Baru to talk to them about the wonders of analytics.

The only thing I was told when I was summoned to present by my boss was to give a talk to the business community in Johor about analytics.

Coming up with a topic was tricky, what could I talk about for 30 mins that wouldn’t put everyone to sleep?

When I get started on the topic of analytics, it’s very easy for me to get very technical (and boring) very quickly. I was told to anticipate an audience size of 300 comprising industry leaders across a mix of different backgrounds; services, logistics, property, civil service among others.
