KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): DAP Perak assemblyman Paul Yong Choo Kiong, who allegedly raped an Indonesian domestic worker, is expected to be charged in court tomorrow, sources told theedgemarkets.com.

Yong, 49, was arrested by the authorities on July 9 following a police report filed by the 23-year-old maid the day before, accusing him of the act in his residence in Meru, Ipoh. He was later released on police bail.

The case was investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.

Yong is the Perak state executive council member for Tronoh, and also serves in the State Local Government, Public Transport, Non-Muslim Affairs and New Villages Committee.
