KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Umno has filed four more suits earlier this month against its former MPs who had moved to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

The list comprises Mersing MP Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad, Sabak Bernam MP Datuk Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh, Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Rosol Wahid and Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahaya, their lawyer Ashok Kandiah told theedgemarkets.com here today.

The suit against Dr Abdul Latiff was filed at Johor High Court while Rosol and Mohd Fasiah's suits were filed in Kuala Terengganu and Shah Alam respectively, according to Ashok.

The lawyer said his firm had yet to receive the papers on Shabudin.

Ashok is also acting for Jeli MP Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Larut MP Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and Tanah Merah MP Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz, all of whom had left Umno for Bersatu.

Last month, it was reported that Ummo had during the month filed suits against Mustapa, Hamzah and Ikmal Hisham.

Today, Ashok said the new suits against Dr Abdul Latiff, Mohd Fasiah, Rosol and Shabudin were filed on similar grounds.

Dr Abdul Latiff, Mohd Fasiah, Rosol and Shabudin left Umno in December last year when they submitted their resignation letters to party secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

Former attorney general Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali is said to be acting for Umno.
