KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 27): Ranhill Holdings Bhd has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Indonesia’s PT Jasa Sarana yesterday to explore opportunities in the energy and waste management sectors in the province of West Java.

Jasa Sarana is a regionally-owned legal enterprise of the Government of West Java Province, Indonesia, which has experience in infrastructure including regional development, Ranhill told Bursa Malaysia today.

The first MoU is for both parties to cooperate for the continuation of the Cisolok-Cisukarame geothermal working area concession, while another MoU states their intention to cooperate in developing and implementing mini hydro projects in the province.

A third MoU was signed in relation to the implementation of  infrastructure for the Cirebon Raya and Legok Nangka regional waste management and final disposal projects.

Jasa Sarana will be responsible to assist in the procurement of approvals, licenses, and ensure the completion of power purchase agreements where required.

The MoUs are valid for a period of three months, Ranhill said.

“The MoUs expressed the intention of both parties to jointly carry out cooperation in relation to the projects identified below upon satisfactory due diligence and confirmation of feasibility of each project.”

It added that the projects will be subject to the approval of relevant authorities in both Malaysia and Indonesia.
