KLCI fell 2.7% to the lowest since December 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia's FBM KLCI fell to the lowest in eight years in afternoon trade on Monday as investors worries increased further following the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as Prime Minister.

At 3.05pm, the FBM KLCI was down 42.38 points or 2.77% to 1,488.82, the lowest since December 2011.

Turnover was 2.97 billion shares valued at RM2.62bil. Decliners overwhelmed advancers nine to one or 1,009 losers to 111 gainers and 172 counters unchanged.
