KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks in focus on Wednesday include Ranhill, Paramount, CBIP, TDM, Cabnet and Straits inter Logistics, says JF Apex research.

In its daily highlights report, the research house noted that these stocks have made recent announcements to that could lead to increased investor interest.

Ranhill has secured three contracts worth a total of RM110.1mil including an RM87.9mil pipe-replacement job in Johor, to build an extension Package Plant at Sultan Iskandar Water Treatment Plant (RM19.95mil) and to supply five portable water treatment plants (RM2.25mil).

Paramount has set its property sales target at RM1bil for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2020, helped by some RM1.2bil worth of launches planned for the year.

CBIP has acquired the remaining 0.62% stake in palm oil trader TPG Oil and Gas Sdn Bhd for RM7mil. Now, it will wholly own TPG Oil and Gas (TPGOG).

TDM has proposed to raise up to RM38mil in a private placement to fund its ongoing projects such as the expansion of its healthcare business and the construction of staff quarters, as well as the acquisition of THP-YT Plantation Sdn Bhd.

Cabnet has bagged a subcontract worth RM11.88mil to undertake extra-low voltage works and a fully-integrated environmental monitoring and control system.

Straits Inter Logistics signed a binding definitive agreement with Labuan Port Authority to operate and manage the Labuan Liberty Terminal, after announcing the six-year contract in January.

Meanwhile, the FBM KLCI is expected to remain uncertain and could hover below the resistance of 1,520 points, said JF Apex.

Overnight, US markets took a tumble despite the US Fed's 50-basis-point emergency interest rate cut to mitigate economic impact from the coronavirus.

Earlier, European stocks advanced as the Fed's rate cut came earlier than its policy meeting next month.
