KUALA LUMPUR (March 9): Dolphin International Bhd’s unit is suing its subcontractor for the Lubok Antu palm oil mill project in Sarawak.

Dolphin Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (DESB) filed its writ of summons and statement of claim against Tori Construction at the High Court in Kuching, Dolphin International said in a filing today.

DESB claims Tori Construction failed to take necessary steps to make good the defects on the crude palm oil tank and settlement of the press station slab, as well as the mill perimeter drain invert level.

As such, DESB is claiming special damages totalling RM3.26 million and interest at 5% per annum on the sum.

Last September, Tori Construction had sued DESB for failing to make payment amounting to RM3.11 million.
