Tengku Zafrul bags TalentCorp's Life at Work 2019 award

KUALA LUMPUR (July 17): Finance Minister and former CIMB Group Holdings Bhd group chief executive officer (CEO) Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz emerged as the winner of TalentCorp’s Life at Work 2019 award for the CEO category for Malaysian organisations.

As for international organisations, Annemarieke De Haan of Unilever Malaysia secured the award, while for the public sector and small and medium enterprises, Azaddin Ngah Tasir of Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) and Noor Mohd Helmi Nong Hadzmi of IX Telecom bagged the awards respectively.

Organised annually by the Ministry of Human Resources through its agency Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the Life at Work awards aim to promote greater workplace diversity and inclusion for the future of work in Malaysia.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan said flexible working could actually help businesses raise their productivity in the new environment created by Covid-19.

“Through the jobs and skills development opportunities created by the National Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana), the government remains focused on cushioning the impact of the pandemic on the jobless and vulnerable workers, including the nation’s youths,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, other winners of the awards ceremony, which were announced via video, include CIMB Group for the best Malaysian organisation, Daythree Business Services Sdn Bhd (the best new entrant) and EcoWorld (the best leadership team).
