KUALA LUMPUR: Rising US-China tensions sent key Asian markets into the red on Friday while at Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI fell more than 1%, weighed down losses in glove makers, Petronas stocks and banks.
At 5pm, the KLCI was down 16.81 points or 1.05% to 1,589.61. Turnover was 9.88 billion shares valued at RM5.18bil. The broader market was weaker as decliners beat advancers 719 to 383 while 371 counters were unchanged.
Glove makers and drug makers were among the top losers.
