Advance Synergy, MUIIND ends higher after Anwar’s audience with Agong

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): Advance Synergy Bhd, Malayan United Industries Bhd (MUIIND) and Pan Malaysia Holdings Bhd share prices closed higher today among Bursa Malaysia’s most-active stocks, as these firms which are seen to be linked to opposition leader and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim continued to see investor interest after his audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah earlier today.

News reports, quoting Anwar, reported he had submitted to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, documents to prove the claim he had secured majority support of Members of Parliament (MPs) to form a government. It was reported that Anwar claimed he has the support of more than 120 MPs in the 222-seat Malaysia Parliament.

At 5pm, Advance Synergy closed up 1.5 sen or 7.32% at 22 sen, MUIIND rose 0.5 sen or 4.35% to 12 sen, while Pan Malaysia Holdings was 0.5 sen or 3.45% higher at 15 sen.

Advance Synergy was the most actively-traded counter with some 554 million shares traded, while MUIIND saw about 145 million units transacted. Pan Malaysia Holdings saw around 85 million shares traded.
