KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 27): YTL Power International Bhd recorded an improved net profit of RM76.88 million for the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2020 (1QFY21) from RM67.35 million for the same period a year ago.

Revenue, however, declined to RM2.5 billion from RM2.95 billion previously, mainly due to lower energy payment recorded, a decrease in fuel oil prices, and lower interest and technical services income, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

On prospects, the group said despite the challenging outlook, the performance of its business segments remained resilient due to the essential nature of its operations, and the company will continue to closely monitor related risks and the impact on all of its business segments.
