On 19 September 2017, the Board of Directors ("Board") of Scientex Berhad ("Scientex") recommended a single tier final dividend of 10 sen per ordinary share for the financial year ended 31 July 2017 ("FYE 2017 Final Dividend"). Subsequently, the Board had determined that the dividend reinvestment plan ("DRP") will be applicable to the entire FYE 2017 Final Dividend ("First DRP"), whereby the shareholders of Scientex are given an option to reinvest their FYE 2017 Final Dividend in new ordinary shares of Scientex to be issued pursuant to the First DRP ("New Scientex Shares").
On 6 December 2017, the shareholders of Scientex had approved the FYE 2017 Final Dividend and the DRP at Scientex's Annual General Meeting and Extraordinary General Meeting respectively.
On even date, UOB Kay Hian Securities (M) Sdn Bhd had, on behalf of the Board, announced that the issue price of the New Scientex Shares has been fixed today at RM7.80 per New Scientex Share.
