This announcement is made on behalf of Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad (“SinChew”). The shareholders of SinChew whose names appear on the Record of Depositors of SinChew at the close of business at 5.00 p.m. on 16 April 2008 shall be entitled to the Share Exchange of 1,015,976,055 new MingPao Shares at an issue price of HKD2.70 per MingPao Share on the basis of about 3.36 MingPao Shares for every 1 SinChew Share held. The trading of SinChew Shares on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) will be suspended with effect from 9.00 a.m. on 10 April 2008, being a date which is 3 clear market days prior to the Book Closing Date in order to facilitate the Share Exchange. The suspension will continue until the admission of MingPao to the Official List of Bursa Securities in place of SinChew and the listing of and quotation for the new MingPao Shares on the Main Board of Bursa Securities. MingPao is currently in the midst of changing its name to Media Chinese International Limited and expects to complete the abovementioned change of name prior to its listing on Bursa Securities.
