Rohas Tecnic Berhad ("RTB") announced today that the Board had approved the appointment of Mr George Sia Bun Chun as Chairman of Rohas Tecnic Berhad (“Company”) with effect from 13th January 2020 following the resignation of Tan Sri Wan Azmi bin Wan Hamzah on 1st January 2020.

Tan Sri Azmi had retired to pursue his personal interests and the appointment of George Sia was part of the succession plan.

“I leave RTB in safe hands as George is really the man who built the business and made us the largest tower manufacturer in the country”, said Tan Sri Azmi. “Our family remains long term shareholders of the Company.”

Encik Wan Afzal Aris bin Wan Azmi was also concurrently appointed as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company, maintaining Tan Sri Azmi’s family representation on the Board.

The Board also approved the appointment of Mr George Sia Bun Chun as a member and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee while Dr Ir Jeyanthi A/P Ramasamy was re-designated from Acting Chairman to member of the Remuneration Committee, all with effect from 13th January 2020.
