The Board of Directors of Pintaras Jaya Berhad (“PJB”) wishes to inform that the Singapore ("SG") Government has announced a closure of all workplaces except those in essential services from 7th April to 4th May 2020. Construction activities are generally regarded as non-essential. As a consequence, all our construction site activities in SG will be shut down during the above period. Our office in SG will also be closed. Office staff will continue their work from home.

We have taken the necessary steps of off-hiring all our site rental equipment and tools to reduce expenditure. The SG Government has also announced the waiver of worker levies as well as wage subsidies for the period. PJB wishes to reassure shareholders that both our tender and order book numbers in SG remain robust and that our site activities will be able to recommence immediately when the closure period expires.

Just like the majority of companies, this COVID-19 pandemic will have an adverse impact on our businesses. However, the Board of Directors is cautiously optimistic the PJB Group will be able to emerge from this substantially unscathed through our strong financial position, hands-on management and committed employees.
