| Working experience and occupation | Mr. Chia Weng Lock ("Mr. Chia"), joined Lotus KFM Berhad ("KFM") recently as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Manufacturing. In this role, Mr. Chia is accountable for Business results and growth plan for the overall KFM's product offerings. He also have management oversight of KFM's overall Manufacturing operations.
Mr. Chia brings along over 33 years of work experience with the Dow Chemical Company, a Fortune-500 company, headquartered in USA, having served in various business and functional roles. In Malaysia Dow is involved in sales of wide range basic and specialty chemicals and as well as plastic resins, servicing consumer and industrial markets.
As a member of Dows senior leadership in Asia Pacific, Mr. Chia has played a key role in executing Dows strategy to grow in a market-driven portfolio business in partnership with its customers.
Mr. Chia served in his last position as Dows Asia Pacific Senior Operations Leader till 31 October 2018, and was accountable for Dows Material Sciences business operations across Asia Pacific. He started with Malaysia in May 1985 and has led Information Systems and Customer Service management positions in South East Asia region before being named Asia Pacific Plastics Business Improvement Leader in 2003. He then expanded his responsibilities to manage the OPTIMAL group of companies Order Fulfilment operations. In 2010, he was named Senior Operations Leader in line with the incremental business growth and expanded responsibilities in Asia Pacific, until his retirement in late 2018.
Prior to Dow, Mr. Chia has worked for Overseas Union Banks Electronic Data Processing department for 2 years.
Mr. Chia has represented Dow Malaysia on an adhoc basis in the Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia (CICM) and Malaysia Plastic Manufacturers Association (MPMA) activities. |
