We refer to the Company’s announcements dated 2 May 2019, 7 May 2019, 9 May 2019, 16 May 2019, 23 May 2019, 3 June 2019 and 14 June 2019 in relation to the Offer and announcements dated 14 June 2019, 10 September 2019, 10 December 2019, 11 February 2020 and 20 February 2020 in relation to the Public Shareholding Spread (“Announcements”). Unless otherwise defined, the definitions set out in the Announcements shall apply herein.

In accordance with Paragraphs 3.3 and 3.4 of Practice Note 19 of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) and as stated in the Company’s announcement to Bursa Securities dated 11 February 2020, Bursa Securities has vide its letter dated 10 February 2020 granted the Company an extension of time of six (6) months (from 12 December 2019, being the expiry date of the previous extension of time granted) until 12 June 2020 to comply with the public shareholding spread requirement pursuant to paragraph 8.02(1) of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities.

Based on the Company’s Record of Depositors as at 30 April 2020, the Company’s public shareholding spread was 22.95%.

MCB is formulating the necessary rectification plan(s) in order to comply with the public shareholding spread requirement during the extension period granted, although market sentiments remain cautious in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
