Hume Industries Berhad ("HIB" and the "Company") writes to inform that the Company is proposing to change its name from "Hume Industries Berhad" to "Hume Cement Industries Berhad" ("Proposed Change of Name"). 

The Proposed Change of Name is to better reflect the HIB Group's current principal activities which include manufacturing, marketing and sale of cement and related products.  

The use of the proposed name "Hume Cement Industries Berhad" has been approved and reserved by the Companies Commission of Malaysia ("CCM"). 

The Proposed Change of Name is subject to the approval of the shareholders of the Company at the 40th Annual General Meeting of the Company to be convened and, if approved, will take effect upon the issuance of the Notice of Registration of New Name by the CCM.
