Reference is made to the article entitled “PNB is said to mull sale of Chemical Company of Malaysia stake” which appeared in the Bloomberg and other media coverage on 15 October 2020.

The Board of Directors of Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad (“CCMB”), after having made due enquiry with its major shareholder, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (“PNB”), has been informed by PNB that as per its reply to a Bloomberg enquiry and as a matter of policy, it does not comment on market rumours or speculation. Apart from the above, the Board of Directors of CCMB has no further knowledge on the matter.  

The Board of Directors is cognisant of its obligations under Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad Main Market Listing Requirements, including the requirement to make public disclosure of any material information on a timely basis and the need for thorough public dissemination of material information.
