The Board of Directors of WCT Holdings Berhad (“WCT” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that WCT Berhad (“WCTB”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company has on 23 March 2021 received a letter of acceptance dated 23 March 2021 issued by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia accepting WCTB’s tender offer to undertake and execute as the main contractor, the project for the Proposed Extension and Upgrading of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bahru, Kelantan for a contract sum of RM440,369,118.76 (“the Contract”).

The works under the Contract encompasses the building works, landside infrastructure works, airside infrastructure works and all engineering works for the design, construction, supply, installation, completion, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the existing Sultan Ismail Petra Airport.

The works under the Contract is expected to commence in April 2021 and to complete in April 2024.

None of the Directors or major shareholders of the Company or persons connected with them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the award of the Contract.
