MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad ("Company") wishes to inform that MSM Prai Berhad (“MSM Prai”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, which is located at 798, Main Road, 13600 Prai, Seberang Prai, Penang, Malaysia, had on 8 June 2021 received a notice from the Ministry of Health Malaysia to temporarily suspend its operations commencing around 5:00 pm on 8 June 2021 until 17 June 2021 for the disinfection of the affected premises in curbing the spread of Covid-19 to safeguard the health, well-being and safety of all the Company’s employees and the local community.

Management foresees that the temporary suspension of operations shall delay the shipment of several sales orders to its customers. Management is currently in discussions with the respective customers for the extension of time to deliver the goods and expects that there will not be any adverse impact to the Company nor MSM Prai in view of the long-term relationship with the respective customers. In market mitigation, the Company will be exercising full allowance of its permit to import sugar in addition to its current stock levels. 

MSM Prai is expected to resume its operations on 18 June 2021 or earlier, subject to the approval of the relevant authorities. The impact of the temporary suspension to the Company’s revenue and earnings in the financial year ending 31 December 2021 are currently being assessed.

The Company will continue to adhere to the Government’s guidelines and SOP to minimize the impact of Covid-19 to its staff and business operations moving forward. Any further information will be updated to Bursa Malaysia in due course.
