Further to the announcement dated 9 June 2021, MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad ("Company" or “Group”) wishes to inform that MSM Prai Berhad (“MSM Prai”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, which is located at 798, Main Road, 13600 Prai, Seberang Prai, Penang, Malaysia, had on 15 June 2021 received notice from Ministry of Health (“MOH”) to resume its operations commencing 15 June 2021 after the thorough disinfection carried out successfully at the premises. Initially, MSM Prai was ordered to temporarily suspend its operations commencing around 5:00 pm on 8 June 2021 until 17 June 2021 by MOH for the disinfection of the affected premises in curbing the spread of COVID-19.

The Company wishes to inform that it has and will continue to implement and practise strict SOPs to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among its employees. The health and safety of all the employees of the Company has always been the top priority at all times. Previously, MSM Prai had undergone testing over a two-day screening period on 7 and 8 June 2021 as a proactive measure to all 756 employees at the premise including contract workers which are over 92 percent Malaysians.

The estimated impact of the temporary suspension based on the initial assessment to the Company’s revenue and earnings is less than 5 percent for the financial year ending 31 December 2021. The Company is also actively pursuing to claim the losses incurred during the suspension from the insurer.

With regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Company will continue to put in place stringent COVID-19 prevention measures in accordance with the SOP and guidelines issued by the Government to minimise the impact of COVID-19 to its employees and business operations.
