The Board of Directors ("the Board") of Hup Seng Industries Berhad (“HSIB”) wishes to announce that, Hup Seng Perusahaan Makanan (M) Sdn Bhd (“HSPM”) being one (1) of the wholly owned subsidiaries located at Kawasan Perindustrian Tongkang Pecah, 83010 Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Ta’zim, received a notice on 19 September 2021 from the Ministry of Health (“MOH”) to temporarily suspend its operations until 30 September 2021 for the purpose of carrying out disinfecting exercise on the entire premises.   

HSPM is cooperating and working closely with the MOH and taking mitigating steps to contain the spread of COVID-19 at the premises to safeguard the safety and well-being of our employees. 

Impact on operations

The temporary suspension of operations is expected to result in loss of production volume estimated to be approximately 3% of the total annual production volume of the Group.  Delay in the delivery of goods to its local and export customers is anticipated and the management is currently in discussion with the customers to reschedule the delivery of these orders.

Subject to further directive from the MOH, HSPM expects to resume its operations after 30 September 2021.

At this moment, HSIB is unable to quantify or determine the impact of this temporary suspension on its financial performance.
