We refer to our announcement dated 25 February 2022 in relation to the shortfall in the public shareholding spread (“Public Spread”) of Berjaya Land Berhad (“BLand”). BLand has been exploring options to address the shortfall in its Public Spread but requires additional time to rectify the said shortfall due to the emergence of the new Omicron coronavirus variant which has slowed down the global economic recovery and adversely impacted the business operations and performance of the BLand Group, particularly its hotels and resorts business segment.

The Board of Directors of BLand wishes to announce that BLand had on 4 March 2022 submitted an application to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) for a further extension of time to rectify the shortfall in the approved Public Spread of 20% which is currently pending the decision from Bursa Securities.

The Board of Directors of BLand will make the appropriate announcements on the status of the application.
