Rashdi began his career in 1979 as a systems analyst with Telecoms Malaysia. In 1983, he joined a newly set up subsidiary of a major telecommunications company, Sapura Holdings, where he led its IT services division. He then moved to Coopers & Lybrand ("C&L") in 1989 as Senior Manager for IT Consulting and was attached to the London office in 1990 for over a year. He was a Director of the Malaysian C&L Consulting practice in 1993 and became a Partner of the Regional Consultancy Firm in 1995. With the merger of C&L and Price Waterhouse in 1998, Rashdi joined the management team of PwC Consulting overseeing the government and services industry. In 2002, he moved to IBM Malaysia and was appointed as a Partner in charge of the Public Sector. Rashdi then rejoined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2006 as an Advisor and retired in July 2010. As a Management and IT Consultant, Rashdi led assignments in IT Planning, Systems Implementation and Project Management as well as Operations Review and Business Process Improvement.
