| Working experience and occupation | Yong Leh Ying began his career in civil engineering work in a renowned company, Kejuruteraan Awan Cang Ceng (M) Sdn Bhd in Bintulu. He was first appointed as a Project Co-ordinator in Shell Middle Distillate Synthesis Plant (SDMS) and later promoted to Contract & Planning Manager for Malaysia Liquefied Gas (MLNG 2) project under Sarawak Shell Berhad. He left in 1994 to start his own construction business. One of his main clients was the Rimbunan Hijau Group of Companies. From his constant exposure to the oil palm industry, he ventured into setting up an oil palm estate. The ever-changing Telecommunication Technology set an interest for him to be involved in the Telecommunication services industry as a Telekom Malaysia Berhad contractor. |
