We refer to the attached article appearing in The Edge Malaysia and your annuncement dated 12 March 2023 in respect of the above subject matter.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the following: 
       

(a)    Sunway Real Estate Investment Trust (Sunway REIT) is expected to sign a deal to buy six retail assets worth a combined RM500 million from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

(b)    The parties may ink a deal as early as this week.

Reference is made to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”)’s letter dated 13 March 2023 in regards to the article appearing in the Edge Weekly entitled “Sunway REIT to buy RM500 mil worth of retail assets from EPF” and our announcement dated 12 March 2023 in respect of the article. 

 

The Board of Directors (the "Board") of Sunway REIT Management Sdn Bhd, the Manager for Sunway REIT, wishes to confirm that:

 

(a) Sunway REIT is in talks to buy retail assets from Employees Provident Fund but the negotiation of terms are still in progress and we are unable to confirm terms of the agreement

(b) Subject to agreement of terms and the Board's final approval, Sunway REIT expects to enter into an agreement with Employees Provident Fund as soon as possible but we are unable to confirm the exact timing at this juncture due to ongoing negotiations

 

The Board will make the necessary announcements in compliance with the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities in the event of any material developments pertaining to the proposed acquisition.
