I'm not sure any Malaysian banks will go bankrupt, but local banks are most likely to overcome a recession. I bought my shares in 2021, and now I hardly look at it. The dividend received, including the latest declared 0.30, is a total of RM 1.825 per share. I think the risks are much lower than most stocks traded in bursa Malaysia. Just my personal opinion and happy trading.

Besides Maybank M25 plans are to enhance its technology lead through MAE . The new digital banks mostly cater to low income groups. EPF just announced dividend of 5.35% that's way lower than bank.
