Nor Azam M. Taib now MBSB group CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) has appointed Datuk Nor Azam M. Taib as group chief executive officer of the company and its subsidiaries including MBSB Bank Bhd effective from July 1.

Nor Azam was first appointed as the head of business banking of MBSB in November 2010.

After the corporate exercise by MBSB in April 2018 when it acquired Asian Finance Bank which was later rebranded to MBSB Bank, Nor Azam undertook the role of chief business officer of MBSB Bank. 

He was subsequently appointed as the deputy CEO effective from Jan 1 2021 with an expansion of role to oversee all divisions in MBSB Group. 

On 15 August 2021, he was appointed acting CEO of MBSB Group.

Nor Azam is an accounting graduate from the University of Wyoming, United States and also holds a Masters In Business Administration from Charles Sturt University, Australia. 

For the early part of his career in the banking industry, he had held various roles within the business divisions and had worked with banks and finance companies for more than 26 years.
