KUALA LUMPUR (July 26): Eastland Equity Bhd has changed its name to Meta Bright Group Bhd, effective Thursday, July 28.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Tuesday (July 26), the group said its shares will be traded and quoted under the new name, with effect from 9am on Thursday, and under a new stock short name, “MBRIGHT”.

Meanwhile, the group’s warrant, Eastland Equity Bhd - Warrants 2022/2023, will be traded under a new stock short name, “MBRIGHT-WB”. 

In March this year, the group said it plans to acquire 92 commercial units in Bandar Tun Razak Business Park in Jengka, Pahang, as well as undertake a capital reduction exercise and business diversification, to improve its financial position.

Shares in Eastland Equity settled unchanged at seven sen at the midday break on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM102.76 million.
