Hartalega slips to RM1.86, Kossan falls to 98.5 sen

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 15): Hartalega Holdings Bhd slipped below RM2 on Monday (Aug 15) after falling as much as 14 sen or 7% to RM1.86 while rival glovemaker Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd fell past RM1 to its intraday low at 98.5 sen as investors evaluated the post-Covid-19 business outlook for rubber glovemakers that registered a jump in sales during the crucial phase of the outbreak, which started in early 2020.

At Bursa Malaysia's 12.30pm break on Monday, Hartalega cut losses at RM1.88 while Kossan pared its decline at 99 sen after falling as much as 8.5 sen or 8% to 98.5 sen from its previous closing share price of RM1.07.

At 12:30pm, Top Glove Corp Bhd settled seven sen or 8.19% lower at 78.5 sen after the stock was traded at between 77 sen and 87 sen so far on Monday.

Supermax Corp Bhd settled 2.5 sen or 3.18% lower at 76 sen after the stock was transacted at between 75 sen and 79 sen so far on Monday.

Hartalega, Kossan, Top Glove and Supermax are constituents of Bursa's Health Care Index.

Meanwhile, Top Glove and Hartalega are also members of the FBM KLCI.

At 12:30pm, the KLCI rose 1.29 points or 0.09% to 1,507.48 while the Health Care gauge fell 35.6 points or 2.21% to 1,571.84.

The Health Care gauge, which also tracks the share prices of pharmaceutical companies and hospital operators, was the largest-percentage decliner among Bursa's 30 indices.
