Avillion appoints Pee See Hoe as CEO after MD's resignation

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): Avillion Bhd has announced a series of boardroom changes, including the resignation of managing director See Ah Sing and the appointment of a new chief executive officer.

The group, which is involved in property and hospitality businesses, said See resigned to pursue his own interest.

Pee See Hoe has been appointed as CEO, effective from Monday (Aug 22), added Avillion, formerly known as Reliance Pacific Bhd.

Pee has more than 20 years of working experience in accounting, corporate finance, strategic planning, business development across a variety of industries including property development, hospitality, leisure and plantations, the group said in a stock exchange filing.

"He started his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and since then he has held senior positions in several listed companies. Prior to joining Avillion, he was the chief financial officer and the chief operating officer of few companies listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia," the filing read.

Avillion also announced the resignations of two independent non-executive directors — Datuk Roslan Abdul Rahman and Onn Kien Hoe. They resigned on Aug 10, both citing personal reasons and preoccupations.

The group has appointed three independent non-executive directors — Taufiq Abdul Khalid, Rungit Singh A/L Jaswant Singh and Hew Thin Chay — effective from Monday.

According to Avillion's annual report for financial year ended March 31, 2022, the group is 20%-controlled by Datuk Md Wira Dani Abdul Daim, the son of former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, and Toh Puan Mahani Idris, the wife of Daim, via Ibu Kota Developments Sdn Bhd and Daza Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Avillion's share price closed half a sen or 4.76% lower at 10 sen, valuing the group at RM113.33 million.
