KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 11): Datuk Cheah Teng Lim and Kajendra Pathmanathan have been appointed as the two new executive directors of canned food and beverage manufacturer Rex Industry Bhd.

According to the filings with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday (Oct 11), Cheah has more than 30 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, primarily in the areas of sales and marketing, and business re-engineering.

The 61-year-old held various senior sales and marketing positions in companies such as Rothmans of Pall Mall Bhd, British American Tobacco Bhd and Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd, before he went to head the sustainable development division at IRIS Corp Bhd for five years.

Meanwhile, Kajendra is currently an independent director of Mieco Chipboard Bhd.

The 48-year-old started his career with Ernst & Young, Kuala Lumpur in 1999 in the Corporate Recovery & Insolvency department, before he moved to Ernst & Young, London in 2008.

From 2013 to 2022, Kajendra worked with BRDB Developments Sdn Bhd and within the BRDB group of companies.

Rex Industry shares decreased 3.45% to 14 sen on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM95.36 million.
