KUALA LUMPUR: Sunview Group Bhd has secured a RM122.0 million engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract from Nextenaga Sdn Bhd for the development of a 29.99 megawatt (MWac) large-scale solar (LSS) photovoltaic plant in Bukit Badong.

With this latest contract, Sunview's unbilled order book balloons to RM765.6 million and is set to be recognised over the next two financial years ending March 31, 2023 (FY23) and FY24.

In a statement today, the company said works for the LSS plant are expected to commence by December 31, 2022, and the scheduled completion date shall be September 30, 2023.

The scheduled commercial operation date is December 31, 2023, subject to the execution of a supplementary power purchase agreement.

Sunview chief executive officer and executive director Ong Hang Ping said the company's ability to secure new contracts continuously is mainly attributed to its proven track record and experienced technical and management team.

"With that, we would like to assist more companies in adopting renewable energy by providing sustainable solutions in the renewable energy industry.

"Moving forward, we are looking to tender for more EPCC of solar photovoltaic and biogas projects and participate in the latest Virtual Power Purchase Agreement with a total quota of 600 MWac as announced by the government to bolster our order book further and provide financial visibility over the next few financial years," he said.
