Allianz Malaysia announces 69 sen interim dividend, total payout for FY2022 highest on record

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): Allianz Malaysia Bhd announced its single tier interim dividend of 69 sen per ordinary share for its financial year ended Dec 31, 2022 (FY2022).

The payment date will be on Feb 17, while its ex-date falls on Jan 25, followed by its entitlement date of Jan 26, according to the group’s filing on Friday (Jan 6).

The total dividend for its year-to-date FY2022 amounted to 85 sen — its highest dividend payout on record.

This will be the second interim dividend paid by the group, after the first dividend announced on June 28, 2022 and paid on Aug 5.

The insurer declared the record dividend payout despite reporting a 5.73% lower net profit of RM108.56 million for its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2022 (3QFY2022), from RM115.16 million in the same period a year ago. Meanwhile, its revenue rose 7.72% to RM1.71 billion, from RM1.58 billion.

Allianz Malaysia’s share price closed six sen or 0.42% higher at RM14.22 on Friday. Its market capitalisation was RM2.53 billion.
