Shahriman Shamsuddin vacates ED post at Sapura Industrial after serving for 20 years

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb. 20): Datuk Shahriman Shamsuddin has left the board of Sapura Industrial Bhd after serving as executive director (ED) for 20 years.

Shahriman’s employment contract as ED was not extended after it ended on Dec 31, 2022, said the automotive components manufacturer and assembler in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday (Feb 20).

"Parties were attempting to work out details of departure but could not finalise discussions in time," the company added, but gave no further details.

Shahriman, who holds a 0.91% stake in the company, was appointed ED in January 2002.

The 53-year-old tycoon is also the managing director of Sapura Resources Bhd as well as a non-independent non-executive director of Sapura Energy Bhd.

Shares of Sapura Industrial slipped half a sen or 0.65% to 81 sen on Monday, valuing the company at RM58.59 million.
