Retired Bukit Aman director joins Asdion board

KUALA LUMPUR (April 7): Former Bukit Aman management department director Datuk Seri Zaini Jass, who retired from the post on March 9, has joined the board of Asdion Bhd as an independent and non-executive director. 

Zaini will also be part of Asdion’s audit committee and nomination and remuneration committee, the logistics service provider said in its bourse filings on Friday (April 7).  

The 60-year-old started his career in the Royal Malaysian Police in 1984 and had been in public service till March this year. Upon his retirement, Zaini had also joined the board of Artroniq Bhd on March 22 as its non-executive vice chairman. 

In February, Asdion independent auditors Messrs CAS Malaysia PLT issued an unmodified audit opinion with a material uncertainty related to going concern for Asdion’s statements for the financial year ended Sept 30, 2022 (FY2022).  

Since then, Asdion has announced the resignation of two independent and non-executive directors — Karmjit Kaur Sarban Singh and Jamel Ibrahim — with both citing personal commitments.  

Asdion also made two other new appointments to the board who were past employees of TFP Solutions Bhd.  

They are Asdion’s non-executive chairman Abdul Latib Tokimin, who was TFP's former chief executive officer, and Asdion’s independent and non-executive director Noraizwa Mohd Shariff, who was TFP's former human resources development director of corporate affairs. 

Share price of Asdion closed unchanged at three sen on Friday, valuing the group at RM12.82 million. Year-to-date, the counter has dropped 70%.
