Sedania Innovator Bhd’s subsidiary, Sedania As Salam Capital (SASC), is propelling Malaysia’s gig economy forward through its GoHalal Financing Programme.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sedania Innovator Bhd's subsidiary, Sedania As Salam Capital (SASC), is propelling Malaysia's gig economy forward through its GoHalal Financing Programme, which has disbursed nearly RM2 billion to empower micro-entrepreneurs, delivery riders, and small business owners nationwide.

In a statement, Sedania said the programme, developed in collaboration with major digital platforms, expands syariah-compliant financing access for the country's rapidly growing gig workforce of more than three million individuals.

By embedding ethical Islamic finance into digital ecosystems, Sedania aims to enhance income stability and turn financial inclusion into a catalyst for sustainable economic growth, benefiting individuals, partners, and communities alike.

Central to this effort is Sedania's Meta Financing model, which integrates technology, syariah governance, and social impact. Powered by the company's As-Sidq Tawarruq digital trading platform, GoHalal allows digital partners to seamlessly embed Islamic financial solutions directly into their systems.

Each transaction is automated, transparent and fully syariah-compliant in real time.

SASC chief executive officer Khairul Nisa Ismail said beyond fintech innovation, the programme offers an ecosystem that redefines access to capital for the underserved, guided by syariah values and powered by technology.

"As we continue to serve and expand within Malaysia's growing gig economy, our success demonstrates that ethical finance can be both scalable and sustainable, with significant potential to drive long-term socioeconomic growth," she said.

Sedania Innovator founder and group managing director Datuk Azrin Mohd Noor said the gig and digital economy growth reflects the nation's entrepreneurial strength and adaptability.

"Yet beyond these moments of commercial success, we recognise that the people powering this economy often face financial volatility between demand cycles," he added.
