Notable filings

From Nov 24 to 28, notable filings on Bursa Malaysia included that of Compugates Holdings Bhd (KL:COMPUGT), which saw its substantial shareholder and executive director See Thoo Chan increase her shareholding in the company with the acquisition of 3.05 million shares, or a 0.05% equity stake, on the open market, bringing her total shareholding to 16.72%, or 1.01 billion shares. This includes an indirect stake of 6.27% held through her husband, the group’s CEO and substantial shareholder Goh Kheng Peow.

See, who held a direct stake of 5.65% in December last year, has been nibbling at Compugate shares throughout this year, acquiring over 10 million shares since, raising her direct holding to 10.45% as at Nov 27.

For the nine months ended Sept 30, 2025 (9MFY2025) the group recorded a net loss of RM12.11 million, more than double the RM5.15 million it incurred in 9MFY2024, despite revenue climbing to RM30.67 million from RM15.88 million. Loss before tax (LBT) came in at RM9.78 million, RM4.36 million more than the RM5.42 million it registered in 9MFY2024.

“The increase in LBT was mainly due to adjustment in relation to the company’s employee share option scheme amounting to RM12.3 million, offsetting the higher operating profit of RM7.8 million, mainly from the property investment segment,” it said.

Meanwhile, Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd, a Minister of Finance Inc-controlled entity, has increased its shareholding in Elridge Energy Holdings Bhd (KL:ELRIDGE) by acquiring 5.93 million shares, raising its total stake in the manufacturer and trader of biomass fuel products to 127.9 million shares, or 6.39%.

Urusharta Jamaah emerged as a substantial shareholder in Eldridge on July 9 with the acquisition of 7.2 million shares, giving it 5.26% equity interest in the company. Year to date, the company’s share price has soared 134.9% to RM1.01 last Wednesday, valuing it at RM2 billion.

Over at Eduspec Holdings Bhd (KL:EDUSPEC), CEO Datuk Seri Gan Chow Tee increased his stake in the education technology solutions service provider with the acquisition of 3.57 million shares to bring his shareholding in the company to 114.9 million shares, or 8.1%.

Chow Tee, 58, who was appointed to the role in May 2023, is the father of Eduspec executive director Gan Chia Way, 28, who assumed the role on Dec 30, 2022.

Chow Tee is also an independent and non-executive director of YB Venture Bhd (KL:YB) (formerly known as Yi-Lai Bhd), an executive director of Fitters Diversified Bhd (KL:FITTERS) and chairman of privately held developer, Mirame Land Bhd.

He was among two executive directors and three other current directors at Fitters Diversified who were reprimanded and fined RM400,000 each by Bursa Malaysia on Sept 12 for failing to comply with listing requirements for immediate disclosure and shareholder approval for related-party transactions involving the company’s acquisition of shares in Computer Forms (M) Bhd (KL:CFM).

Notable movements

During the period under review, shares in Chin Hin Group Bhd (KL:CHINHIN) rose 8.2% to RM2.11 on Nov 27, from RM1.95 on Nov 24, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM7.36 billion.

On Nov 28, Divine Inventions Sdn Bhd increased its stake in the builder-cum-developer by 5.85 million shares, bringing its total to 1.33 billion, or 37.62%.

Divine Inventions is a private vehicle of the family of Chin Hin Group executive chairman Datuk Seri Chiau Beng Teik, who controls Chin Hin with a 60.61% equity stake.

The group saw its net profit slip 6% year on year to RM26.02 million in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (3QFY2025), from RM27.67 million, on account of higher operating and finance costs. Quarterly revenue surpassed the RM1 billion mark for the first time, rising 17.6% y-o-y to RM1.07 billion, thanks to robust performances in its property development and construction divisions.

Revenue from the building materials division was stable at RM511.19 million in 3QFY2025, although profit before taxation (PBT) slipped 17% y-o-y to RM24.91 million, owing to the absence of a prior-year gain from the disposal of Thai Ajiya Safety Glass Co Ltd’s assets.

Construction revenue more than doubled y-o-y to RM244.86 million, underpinned by accelerated progress on internal property development projects and improved billing on ongoing contracts, while PBT more than tripled to RM5.37 million from RM1.78 million.

Meanwhile, Frontken Corp Bhd’s (KL:FRONTKN) share price dropped from RM4.50 on Nov 20 to RM4.34 on Nov 28. Last Wednesday, it sank further to RM4.23, valuing the company at RM7 billion.

On Nov 26, Dazzle Clean Ltd disposed of 58 million shares in the semiconductor support services provider, bringing its total shareholding to 180 million shares, or 10.97%, from 254 million shares, or 16%.

Dazzle Clean, which was the largest shareholder of Frontken, is now overtaken by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), which held 227.6 million shares, or a 13.76% equity stake, as at last Wednesday.

Frontken’s core profit for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2025 (9MFY2025) jumped 28% y-o-y as revenue rose 7%, driven mainly by stronger Taiwan operations, in which revenue grew 16%, while earnings before interest and taxes climbed 14% on the back of robust AI-related activities.

In a Nov 3 note, Phillip Capital Research said it was positive on the stock for its strong financial results as well as the company’s ability to optimise its current floor space to cater for higher customer volume. The research house maintained its “buy” call on the stock, with a target price of RM5.20, based on a target price-earnings ratio of 40 times its expected 2026 earnings per share.
