UMPSA Holdings forms partnerships to expand global presence

KUALA LUMPUR: UMPSA Holdings Sdn Bhd has formed two partnerships to strengthen its presence in global facilities management and drone technology ecosystems.

UMPSA Holdings is a commercial subsidiary of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).

In a statement, UMPSA said the first partnership was formalised through a memorandum of understanding with Chulia Middle East Technical Services LLC, a Malaysian-founded international facilities management (FM) company, on Nov 18in Dubai.

The collaboration covers smart facilities management, building information modelling, internet of things (IoT)-enabled building solutions, project management, cleaning services and specialised technical offerings.

UMPSA Holdings managing director and group chief executive officer Ts Mohd Fadzil Mohd Idris said the partnership connects UMPSA's research and innovation ecosystem directly with international industry players.

"Together with Chulia, we aim to commercialise home-grown technologies and turn academic innovations into real-world solutions," said Mohd Fadzil.

Founded in 1995, Chulia Middle East, a subsidiary of Chulia Facilities Management Sdn Bhd, manages over 500 FM contracts, employs more than 700 skilled personnel and has delivered over 30 major projects across the UAE.

The collaboration positions UMPSA Holdings to provide transformative solutions for both public and private sectors across Malaysia and the Middle East.

UMPSA Holdings has also signed an MoU with China-based Albatross Tech Pt Co Ltd to establish Pahang's first low-altitude airspace technology incubator and drone centre.

The facility will be located at UMPSA's 72.8 hectare Agriculture Twin Park in Luit, Maran.

The centre will drive research, testing, technology transfer and joint innovation in drone systems, autonomous vehicles, robotics and agri-tech solutions at its Agriculture Twin Park.

The centre will support multiple sectors including smart agriculture, infrastructure inspection, logistics, asset management and commercial drone services.

"This initiative is an investment in local talent and future-ready Malaysian-made drone solutions.

"It strengthens Malaysia's position in the global drone ecosystem while accelerating innovation across multiple industries," Mohd Fadzil said.
